This time of year is nice to be able to rest, relax, and visit with friends and family. Still though, sometimes I feel down around the holidays. I was feeling that yesterday until I stepped outside and just had to grab my camera. The ice was melting and the sun was hitting all these little details in nature I usually just walk past. I was overwhelmed with a feeling of beauty, peace and a connection to nature. This is what the holidays should feel like.

Lighting open houses

As I photographer I always tell my clients TO LIGHT THE ROOM! It adds more ambiance than center pieces do and it doesn't break the bank. I did not have floral center pieces in my own wedding budget so I just went with some theatrical style lighting.
Synergetic sounds is having two open houses to show all the possibilities. Check it out:

Susan and Josh's wedding

Susan and Josh got married on December 6th at the All Saints church in Wynnewood and the reception was at the Merion Cricket club. They both love Christmas so the evening had a warm Christmas feeling! It was a picture perfect night because it snowed and they were up to running around in the snow as you'll see below!

Susan and Josh both have a great sense of humor.

This is the face of a happy man.

Shooting in the dark is hard, so at first I thought I had something on my lens, no it was SNOWING! How perfect!

I caught these two in a moment checking out their new rings. I still remember this feeling from my own wedding so I have been trying to document it.

Josh was dancing to the Charlie Brown Christmas song by himself!

The snow actually laid on the grass that night so we went out for some fun shots. That is when Josh started writing in the the snow "I love Susan." What a cutie! He did this all on his own, very spontaneous! Got this great shot from the balcony above.

wedding planning blogs

Wedding planning blogs are a great place to get creative ideas and learn about valued vendors. My favorite when I was planning was the style me pretty blog where my photography is actually featured.
One of my brides, Tammy Schauf has started her own blog full of helpful info: A wedding story.
She submitted also to Brenda's wedding blog where she featured these beautiful collages below of my images from Tamara's wedding. check them both out. I love seeing my images all over the web!

Chrissy and Chris are engaged

I photographed Chrissy and Chris for their engagement session at Longwood Gardens. They are getting married at Villanova's chapel and the reception is going to be at the Adventure Aquarium in Camden. I am really excited about working at the aquarium, it's such a unique venue!

Thanks for braving the cold and for "sneaking" under the tree!
